Important Information Regarding STAAR End of Course Exams
Governor Perry has signed HB 5 into law. High school students are now required to pass five STAAR EOC exams to meet the new graduation requirements. Those five assessments are:
English I (reading/writing)
English II (reading/writing)
Reading and writing will be tested separately this summer, but will be combined in Spring 2014. STAAR EOC tests for Algebra II, Geometry, English III, Chemistry, Physics, World Geography, and World History have been eliminated from the testing requirements. Therefore, there will be no retests in these subject areas.
