Principal Update 10/26/2020

Parents:

I hope that everyone is safe and healthy.  We are moving quickly through the 2nd grading period.  We will be at the end of the 1st 3-weeks on Thursday.  Please remember that the 2nd and 3rd grading periods are the most challenging.  Teachers cover the largest amount of new material during this time so it is more academically demanding on students.  It is very important that they do well in courses and stay on top of their work each day.

Please make sure that you are looking at your child’s grades in parent access.  We are seeing a slow start by many students and do not want it to become an issue towards the end of the grading period.  Please email your child’s teachers if you have concerns.

Remember that this week is Homecoming Week!  We have our annual Pep Rally at Woodforest Stadium on Wednesday at 6 p.m.  Also, each day we have a theme day and hope that you child will participate.  Please note that the dance was cancelled back in September.  We did try a fall festival in early October but unfortunately did not receive a lot of interest.  We hope to add a semi-formal event during the winter but it is still uncertain what we will be able to do and if it is far enough away from Prom.

We have a lot of activities going this week.  Volleyball, District Cross Country, Football, Tennis, and Golf.  Also, girls basketball is began last week and boys will begin this week.  It is busy at College Park and a lot to get involved in whether playing or supporting our groups.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful week and enjoys the next cold front coming through this week.

Go Cavaliers!!
