Cavaliers,
It is with great excitement and pride that I announce the hiring of our new Head Football Coach and Campus Athletic Coordinator for College Park High School. Please join me in welcoming Coach Buro to the Cavalier family.

Coach Buro comes to us from Johnson High School in San Antonio, where he has served as Associate Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Quarterbacks Coach since 2022. During his time at Johnson, he helped lead the program to remarkable success, compiling a 40–9 overall record, averaging 10 wins per season, and guiding the team to back-to-back district championships and deep playoff runs, including a Regional Finalist appearance in 2025 with a 13–1 record.

Under his leadership as offensive coordinator and play caller, Johnson’s offense became one of the most productive in Texas 6A football, averaging 40.1 points per game and 7.8 yards per play, while leading the greater San Antonio area in offensive production three of the last four seasons. His offenses have set numerous school records, including 6,122 total yards in a season and 42 points per game.

Prior to Johnson, Coach Buro coached at Vandegrift High School in Austin and Brenham High School, gaining experience coaching quarterbacks and wide receivers, coordinating the passing game, and contributing to multiple district championships and playoff victories. Over the last seven seasons, the programs he has been part of have accumulated 15 playoff wins and six district championships.

Coach Buro has been recognized across the state for his leadership and coaching excellence, including being named the 2025 THSCA Region 8 – 6A Assistant Coach of the Year. He is also a respected voice in the coaching profession, having presented at major clinics such as the Hill Country Clinic, City of Palms Clinic, Nebraska Coaches Association Clinic, and the DFW Clinic.

Beyond wins and statistics, Coach Buro is deeply committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. As Recruiting Coordinator at Johnson, he helped 35 players earn opportunities to play college football, emphasizing academic success, character development, and preparation for life after high school athletics.

Coach Buro also brings strong Texas football roots. A former quarterback at Brenham High School, he helped lead his team to the 2009 State Championship Game before continuing his involvement in the sport as a student assistant with the Texas Longhorns football program.

What stood out throughout the hiring process was Coach Buro’s vision for building a comprehensive athletic program that develops the whole student-athlete. His approach focuses on discipline, relationships, academic accountability, strength and conditioning, and collaboration with all athletic programs on campus. He understands the importance of building strong connections with students, staff, parents, and our entire Cavalier community.

I am confident that his leadership, experience, and passion for developing young people will continue to strengthen the tradition of excellence at College Park High School.

Please join me in welcoming Coach Buro and his family to College Park and the Cavalier community. We are excited about the future of our athletic program and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our students and school.

Go Cavs!

Sincerely,
Robert MacFarlane

Ready for What’s Next: College, Career, and Military Readiness
At College Park, we believe every student should graduate with a plan and a purpose. College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) means being prepared for life after high school, no matter what path you choose.

For some students, that means earning college credit or a career certification while still in high school. For others, it’s preparing to serve our country or gaining real-world skills for a job right after graduation.

For parents, CCMR is about knowing your student is confident, capable, and ready to take the next step toward their future.

Because at College Park, we don’t just graduate students—we graduate future leaders.

AP School Honor Roll for the 2024-25 school year!
The Woodlands College Park High School, has earned a place on the AP® School Honor Roll for the 2024-25 school year! On behalf of everyone in the AP community, congratulations to you and your colleagues.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success.

Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. The students who enter four-year colleges with credit from AP accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success. And even for those who don’t earn college credit, AP coursework provides early exposure to college-level work and contributes to a college-going school culture.

We know it takes a significant schoolwide effort—dedication from teachers, counselors, administrators, students, and parents—to make AP access a priority. We join you in celebrating this inspiring achievement for your community. Again, congratulations! I'm inspired by your commitment and grateful for the chance to honor your success.

Sincerely,
Trevor Packer
